New Glarus Chamber of Commerce

Lots of help is needed for all Chamber-run festivals! Grab a friend and volunteer to help with beer pouring, trash crew, selling tokens, setup & breakdown, and more. Volunteer as an individual, or with a larger group.

Driftless Area Land Conservancy

Looking to get outdoors and help keep our special chunk of land beautiful? Volunteer with the Driftless Area Land Conservancy!

Meetings are the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month at Wild Oaks Preserve, about ten minutes north of town. You can find more information here: https://www.driftlessconservancy.org/volunteer


Friends of the Chalet of the Golden Fleece Museum

The Chalet of the Golden Fleece Museum is jewel of a house museum, filled with treasures - volunteer to help share its stories with visitors, May through November.

Friends of the New Glarus Public Library

An association of community members who act as ambassadors of the New Glarus Public Library to promote its services and help promote the library programs.

The Friends meet at 5:00p.m. on the third Thursday of each month at the library, or call the library at 608-527-2003 for more information.


Friends of the New Glarus Woods State Park

The Friends of New Glarus Woods State Park promotes the use and improvement of the park through the following efforts:

  • Providing volunteer support for maintaining trails, planting prairies and other stewardship activities

  • Assisting the park with educational and community activities

  • Providing financial assistance for park projects and programs

Heidi Folk Play

The Heidi Play is performed annually in New Glarus, telling the beloved Swiss story and featuring adoptable kittens from the humane society and goats from a local farm.

New Glarus Cares Community Foundation

This local non-profit uses their heads & hearts to keep New Glarus a great place to live.

New Glarus Home

The New Glarus Home Volunteer program hosts a wide array of opportunities and works to tailor your volunteer experience to your interests and abilities. From leading group programs as a Volunteer Life Enrichment Assistant, spending time 1-on-1 with Residents, joining the Gardener's Club, decorating the grounds and interior, to providing transport we have an array of ever-growing opportunities to support an active and enriching lifestyle for both our Volunteers and Residents.

Swiss Historical Village & Museum

The Swiss Historical Village & Museum presents the unique story of the founding of New Glarus in 1845 and traces the Swiss colony's growth into a dairy farming community that continues to keep alive its ethnic heritage.
